Needles & Friends Quilt Guild Challenge 2009-2010
“Fire & Ice”

Material requirements: NONE
Pattern requirements: NONE
Color requirements: NONE
This is your interpretation of the title “Fire & Ice”
Use fabric, techniques, and embellishments of your choice
Size Requirements: NO LARGER than 32 x 32
(Remember, this is a challenge. Try doing miniatures or an art piece.)
You can create any shape you would like…but it MUST be within the
perimeters of the size requirements to qualify for entry *No exceptions
Quilted Treasures, Liberal & Prairie Trails, Turpin will supply a prize “basket”.
You can enter at their store with each purchase throughout the year.
It is up to you to remember to sign up.
Names will be drawn on May 4, 2010. Be sure to visit often…
No limit on the number of times you can sign up!
Required: Label on the back:  Name, Address, & Title of the quilt (no sleeve needed)
Your entry must be in a labeled pillowcase, release form completed, and a 3 x 5 card
that has your “Artist Statement” on it (35 words or less):
This is how you came up with the idea, name of the fabric, (or how long
you have had the fabric!), title of the quilt, pattern name or if it is your own
design, who you made it for, or anything else that might be interesting to
know about this quilt. This gets the viewer involved with the quilting/viewing process!

Any quilt entered must be made bet.ween July 7, 2009 and April 6, 2010

Needles & Friends has paired up with the Liberal Fire Department to help
purchase “Fire Pup” literature to teach children in the classrooms about fire safety!
Our quilts will be hanging at the First National Bank of Liberal from
April 7th through April 27th for the community to “Vote” for their favorite!
“Voting” is accomplished by purchasing tickets from the front desk (10/$1.00)
and then depositing them into the corresponding numbered box.
